Tantalus' wine making team consists of two dedicated and talented people.
Senior winemaking consultant Jacqueline Kemp comes to us via New Zealand's Central Otago region. She brings with her a passion for making Riesling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Jacqueline received her winemaking degree from Lincoln University NZ and she has since gone on to work multiple vintages in Burgundy, Western Australia and New Zealand. She is the former winemaker for Akarua Winery in Central Otago.
David Paterson fills the shoes of Tantalus' production winemaker. He's a Kiwi with a Canadian connection, having been born in Vancouver. David also received his winemaking degree from Lincoln University and he's spent the last several years working vintages at premium wineries in Oregon, New Zealand and Australia. David's former position was production winemaker with Henschke Cellars in South Australia.
Our vineyard is managed by Warwick Shaw who holds a viticulture diploma from Okanagan University College. Before joining the wine side of things, Warwick understood the relationship between land and climate, having previously been employed as a field technician in the forestry sector. Warwick is passionate about growing premium quality grapes knowing that the potential for great wine is determined in the vineyard.
Jane Hatch is the link between great wine and yourself, overseeing general operations, marketing and sales. An ecologist with a love for wine, she introduces our product to restaurants and wine stores near and far, as well as bringing Tantalus to life for those who drop by our Cellar Door.
